Optimal outbound logistics

LOGIA WMS feature highlight

Automatic order prioritization

New improved functionality in LOGIA controls and streamlines the handling of orders based on warehouse shipping times and delivery destinations. The entire outbound logistics is bound together and integrated into the new route management function. This includes order prioritization, carrier projections, rank management, and load management.

LOGIA route management allows you to set up new criteria for prioritizing orders based on warehouse shipments. The criteria are set up in routes determined by the carriers’ pick-up times and delivery destinations. You specify, among other things, the days on which a carrier runs a particular route, the time the truck is to be loaded, and the order at the carrier’s unloading points.

The routes are set up once, after which LOGIA automatically applies these criteria to prioritize the order in which orders should be picked, ranked, and loaded. Orders to be shipped first are picked first. The finished orders are ranked first and are then loaded according to the carrier’s unloading points.

ecommerce shipments

Webshops are characterized by many small orders that have to be shipped directly to the customer with a short delivery time. In the route management function, these orders can be prioritized according to the shipping method that the customer has selected and the time the order was made. All orders made before a certain time can be picked and shipped with today’s shipment. Orders made after this time will be transferred to the next shipment.

Optimal use of the shipping area

When prepackaged orders accumulate in the warehouse’s shipping area it often causes space problems. The order prioritization of route management ensures that orders are packed and ready in the shipping area at the time of loading, so they do not take up space until they have to be shipped.

LOGIA makes carriers projections of the expected volume of the shipment, which determines how much ranking space is allocated to the shipment. The projections are automatically sent to the carriers before pickup, so they know how many trucks to send.

The finished orders are collected at the port where the carrier picks up the shipment. LOGIA calculates how long it takes to load the orders so that the ranks can be set aside for new orders after the shipment is shipped.

The route management function is used by Flying Tiger CopenhagenHiFi Klubben, and Hospital Sønderjylland among others.
